The purpose of the annual Adelante Promotores (Go Forward Promoters) conference is to celebrate the work of Promotores, and motivate and prepare them in their valuable and honorable work. As a result of the professional and personal nature of the Promotor(a), the conference aims to provide the tools and skills for individuals to progress in and handle the personal impacts of their work which are achieved through the conference goals: 1) increase Promotores\u2019 personal and professional skills, 2) provide resources and tools to facilitate the work of Promotores.<\/p>\n
The 2017 conference theme, \u00a1Ahora es Cuando!\u2014the Time is Now!\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u2014 was a \u201ccall to action\u201d\u2014and was more relevant than ever. San Diego County Promotores Coalition is about advancing healthy and thriving communities<\/em>. We do this by valuing and protecting the work of all Promotores\u2014our community\u2019s essential \u2018Health Equity foot soldiers\u2019 at the front lines of prevention.<\/p>\n Throughout the years, San Diego County Promotores Coalition has worked hard to champion our region\u2019s Promotores and be a relevant resource and convener for Promotores and like-minded individuals and organizations. Influencing policy, mapping best practices, advancing partnerships, creating linkages, hosting learning academies, breaking down barriers to legitimacy in the workforce and hosting the Annual Adelante Promotores Conference are examples of how the Coalition does business and gives \u201cvoice\u201d to our region\u2019s Promotores.\u00a0 More than anything else we celebrate and value the important labor of Promotores.<\/p>\n So why the theme, \u201c\u00a1Ahora es Cuando!\u2014the Time is Now!\u201d<\/em><\/strong>?<\/em> Because then (and now!) was the time to be more vigilant than ever about protecting the communities we serve and ensuring ALL<\/u><\/strong> families<\/u> have access to culturally appropriate\u2014essential<\/em>\u2014health and social services.\u00a0 Therefore, we took action because \u201c\u00a1Ahora es Cuando!\u2014the Time is Now, Promotores!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_gallery gallery_ids=”1082,1055,1056,1057,1058,1059,1060,1061,1062,1063,1064,1065,1066,1067,1068,1069,1070,1071,1072,1073,1074,1075,1076,1077,1078,1079,1080,1081,1083,1084,1085,1086,1087,1088″ gallery_orderby=”rand” posts_number=”34″ show_title_and_caption=”off” show_pagination=”off” zoom_icon_color=”#9f111b” admin_label=”Gallery 2017 Adelante Promotores Conference” _builder_version=”3.11.1″][\/et_pb_gallery][et_pb_code]<\/p>\n
