Deysi Merino, BA

Deysi B. Merino currently works as the Migrant Health Program Supervisor at Vista Community Clinic (VCC) and supports the San Diego County Promotoras Coalition as the secretary.

Ms. Merino brings over 2 years of experience working and supporting the work of Poder Popular, VCC’s legacy promotor group of more than 40 lideres (community leaders) from North County San Diego. Ms. Merino has helped the group mobilized and advance health equity efforts in their community by leveraging key partnerships in the City of Vista and connecting the lideres to professional development opportunities and accessible resources.

Through her work, Ms. Merino has ensured that the voices of community leaders are included in decision- making spaces by making them part of the conversation while uplifting their experiences and highlighting the impact their work has accomplished over the years.

Ms. Merino’s overall goal is to empower community members reach their leadership potential so that together they can advocate for robust and sustainable resources be allocated towards the health and wellbeing of community.
